Social Enterprise World Forum 2015
The 2015 Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF), the world’s leading social enterprise event, will be held in Milan on July 1-3, 2015, in coincidence with the World Expo in Milan, thanks to the alliance of ACRA, Fondazione Cariplo and IULM University. SEWF 2015 is the eighth annual Social Enterprise World Forum and will bring together over 1,000 delegates from all over the world: entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists and representatives from those governments that are most active in promoting social economy development.
The 2015 SEWF was presented at Fondazione Cariplo HQ in Milan, last February 25, with a lecture by Peter Holbrook, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK, the UK national body for social enterprise. Holbrook is one of the most well-respected social entrepreneurs in the UK, responsible for the regeneration, through social enterprise, of some of the UK’s most deprived communities. He developed 'project sunlight', based in Gillingham, Kent, into one of the country's most high-profile and award-winning community anchors.
During the event with Peter Holbrook, there was also the presentation of OPES fund - the spark of social value, the second issue in the Sustainable Finance publication series launched in November 2014, which is a joint effort of Fondazione Cariplo and Eticanews.it to illustrate how we invest our assets in concrete projects.
