Foundations: from privatisation to common good

Also this year, foundations from all across Europe will host events in their respective countries to celebrate “The European Day of Foundations and Donors”. Acri and Fondazione Cariplo will contribute to the commemorations with the international conference “Foundations: from privatisation to common good” to be held in Milan, October 2.

The journey will start with the presentation of the results of the research project Philanthropication thru Privatization. The Italian foundations of banking origin represent an emblematic example of entities created out of a process of privatisation of the banking system, but similar processes took place in various countries, from Austria to New Zealand, Germany, Poland and Norway.

Besides the origins, we will look at the future of philanthropy, the new frontiers in terms of challenges, paths to achieve them, as well as the desirable collaboration among Civil Society, Governments and the Market.
